The builder emphasizes attainable housing and giving homeowners “more home for their money,” according to Division President Michael Fraley. 5 Orbitel Communications Orbitel Communications named Latisha Rose president and general manager after nearly a year as interim leader. Rose has worked with Orbitel for nearly two decades in various roles and also serves on the Maricopa Community Foundation.
6 Someburros Construction on Maricopa’s first Someburros restaurant was near completion, with the Arizona-based chain targeting a fall opening. Crews finished much of the exterior and interior work on the Stonegate development location, with underground utilities and remaining exterior features pending. Someburros hopes to host a soft opening followed by a larger celebration with a ribbon cutting, mariachis and community festivities. 7 Walmart Walmart celebrated its remodeled Maricopa store with a grand reopening, drawing shoppers, employees and community leaders. The ceremony included a color guard, national anthem and blessing centered on service. The celebration concluded with $3,000 donations to Queen Creek-based Campbell’s Crew Cares and Maricopa-based Jayda Heart Foundation.
1 Asian Seoul’s Copa Kitchen Asian Seoul’s Copa Kitchen closed after owner Charlotte Stessel decided to step away to care for aging relatives. The business will continue through food truck pop-ups at Copa Farmers Market and other events. 2 Mandy’s Wine Bar A coffee bar opened inside the popular Mandy’s Wine Bar, expanding its menu and morning hours. The café offers locally roasted beans from Tempe’s Infusion Coffee & Tea, along with pastries and breakfast items. It opens at 6 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, serves breakfast until 11 a.m. and offers online ordering for convenient pickup. 3 Marigold Energy Center Salt River Project hosted a third open house to gather community feedback on its proposed Marigold Energy Center near Stanfield.
