I drafted a search warrant to Verizon Wireless after identifying the phone carrier the aforementioned number belonged to requesting all customer subscriber information, device purchase information, any emails associated with the account, call detail records, cell site information, trap and trace, pen register, location information, text message and cloud data. The search warrant was sent to the Pinal County Superior Court through the ewarrant system and signed by Pinal County Superior Court Judge Jamie Ramirez. I received a signed copy of the warrant via email and sent the warrant to Verizon Wireless for service via email. On 11/26/24 at approximately 1130 hours Verizon Wireless began providing real time location information for the device. The real time information was provided to Detective's with the City of Maricopa Police Department who were able to monitor the phones location. The initial location of the phone was determined to be on the Gila River Reservation. At approximately 1000 hours Detectives conducted a canvass search of the area around where the incident occurred and the area surrounding N Madison Rd and W Amsterdam Rd after obtaining intelligence from the suspects social media about an item that was dropped in the area. During the search I made contact with the residents at W Amsterdam Rd. A male at this residence who was identified as Ruben Rubalcava advised me that he had found a black backpack on the side of N Madison Rd close to the block wall surrounding his son's backyard on Saturday 11/23/24 in the late afternoon. Ruben stated he brought the backpack inside the residence and observed what he believed to be a small "fake" handgun inside of it. Ruben stated he believed it was a toy and put the backpack on top of the trash cans in the backyard. The owners of the residence, who were identified as Ruben Rubalcava Zazueta and Adriana Castro allowed us to go into the backyard of the home and retreive the backpack from on top of the trash can. When detectives arrvied in the backyard the backpack was not able to be located on top of the trash can or inside of it. Detectives were granted permission to search the residence and the vehicles on the property but were unable to locate the backpack. At approximately 1648 hours detectives observed the real time location of the device was showing the phone had moved to the known address of residence located at W Roth Rd in Maricopa, Az. Detectives began conducting surveillance on the residence and a short time later observed leaving the residence and entering a vehicle as a passenger. A traffic stop on the vehicle was conducted and and were taken into custody and brought to the Maricopa Police Department.
