Supplement Maricopa Police Department Supplemental Report DR #241122068
On 11-22-2024 at approximately 1934 hours I responded to a shots fired call at WEST DIRK STREET within the City of Maricopa. I advised dispatch I was enroute to the location an I activated my red and blue lights along with my siren as I drove to the scene. At 1944 hours I arrived at the the corner of West Guilder Avenue and Dancer Lane. I positioned my vehicle to to block off access to Dancer Lane where the Maricopa Fire Department truck was parked. As I exited my vehicle I saw residents of the area starting to gather at the west corner of Guilder. As I started to walk to the area where the paramedics were medically attending a male juvenile, I noticed there were a few boxes of THC carts on the roadway and the sidewalk. As I walked up to the scene I advised officers to get the crime scene tape and cordon of the area. I then walked up the the body and was advised by officer Wiemiller there was blood on the body but no wounds were seen at the moment. I was also notified by corporal Takagi that officer Fox was with the the MCSO deputy who was able to detain a female subject who was running away from the scene. Myself and officer Gomez, started walking along Dancer Lane in an attempted to locate the shell casings/s from the weapon used in the shooting. We were unable to locate any shell casings on the street, sidewalk and within the rocks. I called sergeant Jordan and relayed to him the information I had at the time. Sergeant Jordan stated he would be calling the detectives to come to the scene. I asked the residents who were gathered at the corner of Guilder Avenue and Dancer Lane if they heard any gunshots and they all stated they didn't. Officer Wiemiller came up to me and told me she spoke to a male (reporting person), who stated he heard a loud pop and then heard a car squeal away from the area. The reporting person looks over his wall and sees a guy laying on the ground and he is gargling, he sees a gun on the ground near the body. Officer Wiemiller said the reporting person also stated he saw a male juvenile running away from the scene and he heard a vehicle leaving the area driving west on Guilder. I told officer Gomez and officer Hawkins to canvass Guilder Avenue for residences for cameras to get the names of the residents and contact information. There were two vehicle parked on the street next to the where the body was found. I called dispatch and asked for a wants and warrants check and they belong to Tony Crook a resident at West Dirk Street. Tony had video of the incident of the car driving away and some audio of the incident. I later had officer Hawkins speak to Tony and retrieve the video he had.
I spoke to officer Peterson on what he saw upon his arrival. See his narrative.
I did call Lt. Gat and told him about the incident. I again called sergeant Jordan and updated him on the additional info we had. I told him we were going to have the female juvenile who was detained running from the area, transported to the Maricopa Police Department and I was advised to bring her back to the area of the incident. I called sergeant Collazo and asked him to start having his officers attempt to locate the suspects. I told him to start form the Senita subdivision and to field interview everyone they came into contact with. Officer Nylander who is a certified drone operator was aske to come to the scene and attempt to use the drone to locate the subjects.
About fifteen minutes later I canvassed the neighbors on the south east side of Guilder Avenue and none of them heard anything related to the incident.
