NARRATIVE: On 11/22/2024 at approximately 1934 hours, I was dispatched to a reported shooting in the area of W DIRK ST in the City of Maricopa within the County of Pinal. Call notes advised the reporting party was a witness and heard a gun shot then went outside to find a male subject laying on the ground. Call notes also advised multiple subjects were running eastbound on W Dirk St from N Dancer Ln. At approximately 1938 hours, I arrived on scene and observed a white male subject standing on the northwest corner of W Dirk St and N Dancer Ln waving me down. Let it be known I did not observe any subjects or vehicle leaving the scene at the time of my arrival. I exited my vehicle and was advised by the male subject where the victim was laying by pointing towards him (west side of N Dancer Ln). I observed the alleged victim to be laying next to a dark colored SUV. I observed the subject to be a Hispanic male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with dark pants. The male subject was laying next to the front passenger side tire. I called out to the male subject who was not moving and appeared to be unresponsive. I placed my hand on the male subject and shook him in attempt to get a response but was unsuccessful. At this time, I grabbed the rear of the male subject's pants to pull him out from under the front of the vehicle as to his shoulders and up were under the vehicle. I laid the male subject on his back and observed what appeared to be pink and white fluid coming from his nose which appeared to be a possible overdose. I attempted to check if the male subject had a pulse which I did not find one. Due to what I observed to be a possible overdose and no immediate sign of trauma to the body, I began to administer Narcan on the subject through his nostril. Let it be known that there was no blood found on the male subject initially to suggest he was a victim of a gunshot wound. At this time, Ofc Gomez arrived on scene and I began to start CPR on the male subject until Ofc Wiemiller arrived and took over CPR. Shortly after, I took over CPR once again until MFD arrived on scene and began treating the male subject. While standing back as MFD began treating the male, I observed blood underneath the male's left shoulder. The male subject was then transported to where at 2024 hours was pronounced deceased. At this time, I contacted the white male subject who waved me down initially who I determined to be the original reporting party and identified him as Rodney Johnston (
