Civilian Investigator Ballard subsequently advised CID detectives of location data obtained from phone placing her near the northwest side of West Velazquez Drive in Maricopa on 11-22-2024 at 1849 hours. I mapped the Velazquez Drive address and in doing so, I recalled prior contacts at a residence in that area with a juvenile (at the time) named Christopher who lived with his mother and two sisters. An internal records check confirmed I previously responded to West Velazquez Drive where Christopher Sanchez lived with his mother, Margaret Sanchez (DOB: and two younger sisters. A Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) search showed Margaret as the registered owner of a white 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee bearing Arizona license plate PPA17G. Furthermore, I was able to identify Sanchez as the Instagram user " through his MVD photo. I relayed this information to lead Detective Mccullar who further confirmed Sanchez's identity with victim Sergio Munoz (DOB: I subsequently conducted a new FLOCK camera search for the white Jeep using the assigned Arizona license plate of PPAl7G. The FLOCK search results for the day of 11-22-2024 were as follows: 11-22-2024 at 1739 hours - Jeep captured westbound on Casa Blanca Road from Interstate 10 in Bapchule 11-22-2024 at 1842 hours - Jeep captured eastbound on West Honeycutt Road at North Rancho Mirage Boulevard in Maricopa The Jeep (PPA17G) was not captured on any local FLOCK cameras at any other times than those listed above for the date of 11-22-2024. I conducted an additional FLOCK search for Sanchez's vehicle, a black 2007 Ford Five Hundred bearing temporary Arizona registration CAA7ZY. There were no results for Sanchez's vehicle being captured on any local FLOCK cameras on the day of 11-22-2024. However, it should be noted, temporary/paper registration plates are often captured poorly or not at all on FLOCK cameras during times of little to no natural/sunlight. I observed the daylight FLOCK captures of Sanchez's vehicle to show the temporary tag discolored and not clearly legible. The FLOCK searches were saved and uploaded to evidence.com.
On 12-11-2024 at approximately 1600 hours, Detective Kiefer and I responded to
West
Lexington Avenue in Maricopa to interview Sanchez and Dominique Zepeda (DOB: Zepeda was identified as Sanchez's girlfriend and the female Munoz initially advised of going to see after the shooting. Sanchez and Zepeda were interviewed separately and a photographic lineup was administered to Sanchez by Detective Kiefer. The interviews were recorded on both my and Detective Kiefer' s Axon body-worn cameras and uploaded to evidence.com. Please refer to Detective Kiefer' s supplemental report for a summation of both interviews and body-worn camera footage for full details. The photo lineups presented to Sanchez were impounded at the Maricopa Police Department as evidence. I have no further information at this time.
