Buck Brawner, an Air Force veteran from Maricopa, has a wit that's as sharp as his skills on the links. His 9 handicap puts him in the top tercile of American men, but he's no scratch golfer —sometimes an errant, water hazard-bound ball makes him say, "WTF!" It doesn't (directly) stand for anything profane, though. The patch on his camo golf bag harkens back to his military days: "Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot."
