Stars, stripes and smiles Veterans, seniors and children celebrated America’s milestone with games and shared memories Maricopa’s senior and veteran communities gathered at the Maricopa Community Center to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with festive activities. Children in patriotic outfits hosted table games, including trivia and dice challenges. Later, attendees tossed streamers to mimic fireworks and sang “Happy Birthday” to the country. The celebration also featured sweet treats and veterans shared stories from their military service.
