3 Global Water Resources Global Water Resources reduced its proposed rate increase for Maricopa customers. Under the revised settlement, the average combined water and wastewater bill would rise by about $1.56 per month, or roughly 1.5%. The Arizona Corporation Commission will consider the proposal Aug. 3. If approved, the new rates will take effect in November. 4 Head Start Preschool Head Start Preschool submitted plans for an 11,000-square-foot facility in the Seven Ranches area. Plans include four preschool classrooms, administrative offices and three playgrounds. A construction timeline has not been announced. 5 Mountainside Fitness Mountainside Fitness submitted a pre- application for a 40,000-square-foot gym south of Lowe’s Home Improvement. A construction timeline has not been announced.
6 Panera Bread Construction continued on a 2,400-square-foot Panera Bread at South Bridge Marketplace. Plans show the bakery-cafe will occupy the west end of a retail building and include a drive-thru, outdoor seating, a brick facade and metal paneling. Panera Bread was among the first tenants announced for the development. 7 Teva Farms After a fire destroyed the family’s Hidden Valley home, the owners of Teva Farms are rebuilding with help from neighbors and the Maricopa community. While the house was lost, the family’s lavender greenhouse survived, allowing the local business to continue as they recover from the devastating June 30 blaze. 8 Walmart Walmart proposed adding drone delivery service at its Maricopa store. Plans show the drones would be housed in a fenced section of the parking lot and used to deliver groceries, over- the-counter medications and household items to customers within 30 minutes. An approval or launch timeline has not been announced.

1 Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club Construction continued on a more than $20 million expansion that will nearly double the clubhouse’s size to 23,600 square feet. A soft opening is expected in April 2027. Plans include a ballroom for up to 250 guests, private event spaces, an outdoor lawn, a food hall and sports bar and a separate employee building. The Arroyo Grille will remain the club’s upscale dining option. A new 7,600-square-foot putting green is expected to open in September. The project will also add Freddy’s Turn, a halfway house with food, drinks, air conditioning and restrooms. 2 Beyond Food Mart Beyond Food Mart proposed a convenience store at Bowlin and Hartman roads. The California-based chain currently operates one Arizona location in Bullhead City. A construction timeline has not been announced.
