W ith a population of over 50,000, Maricopa is a diverse mix of age groups, income brackets and health needs. According to U.S. Census estimates, the city has 5,500 residents over the age of 65 and 2,600 under the age 5. Data from 2017 estimate 7.4 percent live below the poverty level. In 2019, Pinal was among the counties to experience a Hepatitis A outbreak. County health clinics maintain a supply of Hepatitis A vaccines and do not require insurance.
