Maricopa’s Homeowners Associations
BY BRIAN PETERSHEIM
I f you live in Maricopa or are moving to town, your home is likely in a homeowners association, or HOA. All of the city’s 19 residential developments — from Acacia Crossings to the Villages at Rancho El Dorado — have them. They are run with the help of eight management companies with varying monthly fees and amenities.
Before you make that big decision, here are a few things to consider: • How important is the commute time? • What do I get for my money? • How strict is the HOA with parking? • What amenities are included? • How often does the HOA raise fees? • Is construction ongoing in the area? • Is cable tv or internet included in my monthly fees?
