Eloy and Florence, with their agricultural roots and slower pace of life, offer the most budget-friendly options, with average home prices in the mid $200,000s. Arizona City, a small community with a rural feel, averages around $300,000. Once a city of 1,668 residents, Maricopa has seen its population grow to nearly 75,000 in the last two decades. Maricopa has changed quite a bit, some things remain the same. Given its amenities and relative closeness to the Valley, Maricopa is the best deal for housing in the area, just like it was 20 years ago.

Even grown considerably since its incorporation, housing remains a driving force for the city’s economy. And as far as prices go, Maricopa still beats the Valley. In most cases, you can count on a discount of anywhere from 15 to 30% when compared to similar cities in the Valley though Maricopa has Depending on the comparison, a homeowner can save anywhere from $400 and $800 a month on their mortgage payment. In Maricopa, the average sales price is $380,000. That’s 18% cheaper than Buckeye, which is also in a growth phase. According to Realtor. com, Buckeye has an average price of $465,000. The two cities are a pretty good comparison. Both are about a 40-minute drive from Phoenix. Surprise, a ommunity in the northwest Valley, has an average home price of $474,900. Goodyear’s average home sales are $489,700. Tempe and Chandler both topped out at $536,300 and $537,500 respectively, making Maricopa about 30% cheaper than those two. Maricopa also compares favorably with other options within Pinal County. It’s a little closer to the Valley and a tad more expensive than Casa Grande, which has an average home price
